Titles similar to Dungeon Quest, Book Three
As South African comics creator Daly’s quest-adventure send-up continues, he, and not just his tale’s fearsome foursome, is in danger. For at times, the yarn becomes seriously exciting, especially during the travel and fight scenes when everybody clams up. Fortunately, either Millennium Boy, Steve, or Lash delivers another line from Cheech-and-Chong-land (remember, our heroes and heroine blow a lotta weed), and the equilibrium of foolishness is restored. OK, where were we? The mystic Bromedes, the finding of whom concluded the previous book, informs the quartet about Atlantis (remember, they’re reassembling the Atlantean Resonator Guitar) and launches this leg of the quest. After spending all they have on shrub and shrooms (from a balky vending machine; it’s funny), MB finds The Romish Book of the Dead (we get to read it with him; very droll), Steve overtokes and has a “Freudian” dream, Lash fortuitously attracts a little forest-man, Nerdgirl disappears, the guys lose their clothes and hair, and plenty of jokey “swears,” epithets, and vernacular body-part terms are spoken. Because of Daly’s cartooning chops, nonpareil entertainment.
